Howe of Fife Midi Teams
Here at Howe of Fife we run several Midi teams. Boys graduate from Mini Rugby into S1. We also have teams at S2, U15 and U16 before they move on to The Colts.
Saturday 5th September - Cancelled Matches
S1, S2, S3, Colts U-16 and Colts 2nds matches against Dollar are cancelled.
Colts 1sts will travel to Dollar for a 10am kick-off
S1 Team Bring Home the Stirling County 10s Trophy
Howe S1s competed on Saturday 21st April at STIRLING COUNTY 10`s tournament
and after winning their first round of games , including a win over
Stirling County, the boys progressed to the final game against Melrose .
This proved to be a very tight affair against a very quick set of backs
for Melrose who took the lead with a try in the first minute . The Howe
boys responded well shortly thereafter with a well worked wingers try
from Gavin Young who showed his pace to go round his opposite number and
score under the posts .
Half time came with the sides equal .
The second half continued to be a close affair with some aggressive
tackling from both sides . A moment of individual brilliance however
from George Horne , P7 , led to Howe taking the lead . Running from his
own 22 , having gathered a Melrose attacking kick , George beat
three defenders on his way to score under the posts . Melrose then
spent the next quarter of the game in the howe half , but the tackling
was sound and a win was secured.
